My wife Tiffany and I really enjoyed our movie theater experience with this film with plenty of laughs and engaging animation. It was fun to watch the style of animation flip back and forth between the computer-generated graphics and the old-school storybook sketches.
This stylizing of the film keeps you engaged and entertained. You’ll love this film like we did and understand why it scored 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.

12. Puss in Boots
Puss in Boots is the fearless cat who first appeared in the Shrek franchise voiced by Antonio Banderas. He exudes confidence with every swing of his sword, enjoys being the center of attention, and sings songs about his epic conquests.
Puss loves to be the center of attention but must self-reflect on his nine lives when Puss meets an orphaned pup in his new feature film, The Last Wish.
Puss in Boots’ physical appearance is that of an orange cat who wears black knee-high boots, a black cape, a musketeer-style sword, and a black hat curled on one side with a large white feather.
11. Kitty Softpaws
Kitty Softpaws is the love interest of Puss in Boots and a fan-favorite character voiced by Salma Hayek. Kitty is greatly skilled with a blade, and her athleticism and intelligence are often displayed as a skilled thief.
Like Puss, Softpaws can also make big cute eyes to convince others to do what they want. Occasionally, Kitty will reference a traumatic experience when she got declawed, which landed her the nickname Softpaws.

10. Perrito
Perrito is an abandoned puppy who meets Puss (named Pickles at the time) at Mama Luna’s house of cats voiced by Harvey Guillén. Perrito wears a cat costume to blend in but clearly exhibits dog behavior. Perrito’s optimistic and glass-half-full personality continually lifts Puss in Boots’ spirits on his quest to find the last wishing star as Perrito practices his therapy dog skills. Perrito also coins the phrase, Team Friendship, which includes Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws, and Perrito.
Perrito’s physical appearance is a small Chihuahua-sized mixed breed with multi-colored fur and large teal eyes. He has a snaggletooth and a right bent ear. Perrito wears a white and teal-colored sock as a sweater.
9. Goldilocks
Goldilocks from the fairytale Goldilocks and the Three Bears is all grown up now and is voiced by Florence Pugh. Goldi is also seeking out the last wish so that she can wish for a real human family that she believes will help her feel complete and normal. Goldi tries to recruit Puss and Boots to steal the map for her, but instead, she finds herself in competition with Puss, Kitty, and Jack Horner for the map and wishing star.
Goldilock’s physical appearance is that of a young woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. Her hair is styled up in two large spheres, and she wears several bracelets on her right wrist and a beaded necklace. She also wears a blue floral dress with short white sleeves and is often seen holding a staff when riding on the backs of the bears.
8. Mama Bear
Mama Bear is the mother in the fairytale Goldilocks and the Three Bears and is voiced by Olivia Colman in The Last Wish. Mama Bears shows protective instincts and is often the soft voice of reason and support when Goldi expresses her wish for a new family.
Mama Bear is the second largest of the three brown bears and wears a pink beret.
7. Papa Bear
Papa Bear is the father in the fairytale Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which means he is Mama Bear’s husband and is voiced by Ray Winstone. Papa Bear is the muscle of the group, even though he prefers to spend most of his time napping in his chair.
Papa Bear is the largest of the three brown bears and has a damaged left eye that is opaque. He wears a yellow scar around his neck, making it easy to tell him apart from the others.
6. Baby Bear
Baby Bear is the child in the fairytale Goldilocks and the Three Bears which is voiced by Samson Kayo. Baby Bear is the youngest of the brown bears and the brother of Goldi. Baby Bear and Goldi get along well as siblings and make a good team, and Baby Bear loves snacking on honey.
Baby Bear is also the smallest of the bears and has a notch missing from this right ear. Baby Bear also wears a chain necklace with a door knob, gear, and fork attached.
5. Death (Big Bad Wolf)
Death is represented as a big bad wolf looking for an arrogant little legend who thinks he is immortal and never appreciates the eight lives he already had. Death is voiced by Wagner Moura. The wolf, Death, is also a skilled fighter with a pair of sickles and the first to touch Puss in Boots with a blade.
Death is drawn as a tall silver and white wolf with a long, narrow snout. He has piercing red eyes and wears a black hooded cape.
4. Jack Horner
Big Jack Horner is the grown-up version of the fairytale boy who sat in a corner eating his Christmas pie and is voiced by John Mulaney. He stuck in his thumb, pulled out a plumb, and now owns a pie-baking empire. Feeling he has something to prove, Jack Horner has collected all the fairytale magic he can get his hands on, including his new target, the wishing star. Jack is outspoken, doesn’t hide his cruelty or selfishness, and stops at nothing to get his way.
Little Jack Horner is the purple-haired guy in Puss in Boots. He is much bigger now with oversized broad shoulders and puffy cheeks, making his eyes and nose seem small. Jack has oversized hands and small feet. His hair is light purple and straightened, covering the back of his neck with bangs in the front. Jack dresses in a dark purple three-piece suit with black pants and boots.
3. Mama Luna
Mama Luna’s house is a cat sanctuary where stray cats are welcome and is voiced by Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Mama Luna is an elderly cat lady who loves all types of cats as long as they follow the rules and wear their blue mittens. When Puss first arrives, she bathes him and brushes him, but she won’t let him use the human toilet or cook in the kitchen.
Mama Luna is an African American woman with white fluffy hair like whisps of cotton candy. She wears a yellow knitted sweater, a navy blue dress with cat prints, black framed round glasses, and red cat earrings.
2. Doctor
The local Doctor is also the local barber and is voiced by Anthony Mendez. After Puss in Boots laughs off his prescription of no more adventures, Puss counts all of his lives and realizes he has died eight times and is now down to only one life.
The Doctor is a stout man with broad shoulders and curly black hair. The Doctor wears a blue shirt and a matching blue hat. He wears gold glasses with a magnifying glass over the right lens and a candlelight lamp strapped around his blue hat.
1. Ethical Bug
The Ethical Cricket hops out of Jack’s bag of fairytale magic and attempts to steer Jack toward making good decisions to help others as his conscience. Kevin McCann voices the Ethical Bug. The Talking Cricket grows more and more frustrated with Jack’s disregard for human life and the depth of his selfishness.
The Ethical Bug has wings and four legs like a green cricket. He wears brown overalls with purple buttons and a purple bow tie with the addition of a yellow scarf.
