Jeremy Shada is well-known as a prolific voice actor. He was born in Boise, Idaho, in 1997 and has one older brother, Zack Shada, who is also an actor. It was Zack’s early interest in acting that inspired Jeremy to start acting too.
At the age of seven, Jeremy began to act in commercials and developed an interest in voice acting. At the age of 12, he auditioned for Finn, the Human in Adventure Time.
The voice of Finn in the pilot episode had been spoken by Jeremy’s brother Zack. Jeremy’s ability to match his voice to that of his brother earned him the role in the series.
Jeremy Shada Movie Voices
In 2004 at the age of seven, Jeremy voiced Jean Francois’s character in Team America: World Police. The characters are all marionettes. The film generally received positive reviews on its release.
The following year Jeremy undertook the voice of Tanaka in the film My Neighbours the Yamadas when it was dubbed into English. He was responsible for some additional voices in the animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
In 2012 Jeremy joined an all-star cast of voices to play Pug in the hit animated film ParaNorman. The film proved to be a critical success and a box office draw. It won a group of awards, including several for Best Animated Film.
In 2017 Jeremy took over the lead role of Cody Maverick in Surf’s Up 2: Wave Mania. Shia LaBeouf voiced the character in the first film in the franchise.
The following year saw Jeremy join an enormous cast of voice artists to voice Zero in Ralph Breaks the Internet, a follow-up to the hugely successful Wreck-it Ralph.
Jeremy Shada TV Show Voices
Although he voiced characters in several successful films, Jeremy is probably best known for his work in television. This work began with him voicing young Robin in Batman’s animated series: The Brave and the Bold between 2009 and 2011.
In 2010 Jeremy began voicing the lead character in the animated fantasy series Adventure Time. The series follows the adventures of Finn the Human voiced by Jeremy in the mythical Land of Ooo. This role is the one for which Jeremy is best remembered and one he played for eight years. The series ended in 2018.
Adventure Time aired on Cartoon Network and proved to be one of its most successful series. As many as three million viewed some of the episodes, the ratings were high for a children’s series. Adventure Time developed a cult following among both teenagers and young adults.
The series also accumulated several prestigious awards, including Emmys and a Peabody Award. A series of comic books were based on the series, and there was merchandising that included video games, clothing, and books.
The series was featured at several Comic-Cons with the characters popular with cosplayers.
Between 2016 and 2018, Jeremy voiced Lance in the animated series Voltron: Legendary Defender. This series ran for eight seasons, with the plot and storyline receiving particularly positive comments.
It gained nominations and awards for its cast and production. Jeremy was nominated for the BTVA Best Male Lead Vocal Performance in a Television Series Award in 2017.
Jeremy Shada has had an interesting, varied, and successful career as a voice artist. He has also appeared as an actor in live-action films and television programs and plays bass guitar in the band Make Out Monday.
