In the enchanting world of Barbie: Fairytopia, at the colorful Magic Meadow, the beautiful but wingless sprite, Elina, lives in a hospitable flower along with her companion, Bibble, the puffball.
Elina discovers that the wicked Laverna has weakened all flying creatures in her magical land, and now, they are unable to fly. To save the beloved Fairytopia, Elina must summon up the courage to find the Guardian Fairy, Azura.

Barbie: Fairytopia Plot Summary
Barbie: Fairytopia is the fifth film in the Barbie film series, and it features an original storyline. It introduces Elina, a wingless fairy who had to embark on a journey to save her realm from the evil Laverna, who scattered a curse throughout Fairytopia.
She has the opportunity to save the realm from an evil ruler, but the task is challenging, and the enemy is powerful with minions ready to do all that it takes to have their evil queen remain sitting on the throne.
As the only wingless fairy in the realm, Elina is constantly bullied by the mischievous pixies. Although she has longed for a pair of wings for herself, she doesn’t fight back and only ignores them.
Elina has two close friends, her best friend Dandelion and puffball pet Bibble who defend and support her. One day, it is discovered that Topaz, a guardian of Fairytopia, was abducted.
For their safety, Elina and her puffball Bibble returned to Peony in Magic Meadow, Elina’s musical flower home. Guardians are supposed to be powerful, and Elina is confused about how Topaz got abducted.
The residents of Fairytopia, including Elina, are unaware of the real danger at hand. Topaz was abducted by the queen’s evil sister Laverna who desired to replace her on the throne.
She commanded all her minions to spread an evil formula in the air to weaken all the winged citizens of Fairytopia. The queen has already been poisoned and is now weak. It’s just a matter of time before everyone falls ill and seeks Laverna’s cure. They will then have no choice but to crown her as queen to receive the antidote.
The following morning, Elina wakes to discover that Peony has fallen ill together with all the fairy homes in Fairytopia. Elina and her friends Dandelion and Bibble agree to travel to the nearest guardian for help.
As they enter the forest, Dandelion breathes the formula that the minions scattered there. It is now Elina and Bibble who have to complete the mission.
When they are denied entry at guardian Azura’s home, the two sneak into the house another way, but the guardian herself discovers them. Upon seeing the rainbow in Elina’s eyes, Azura knew that she was special and decided to entrust her with the magic necklace.
Azura knows what’s going on and decides to travel with Dahlia, a former follower of Laverna. Unfortunately, Azura is abducted by one of Laverna’s minions, and Elina is accused of it. Luckily, Hue, a Large Butterfly, arrives just in time to save Elina and Bibble.
Laverna expected to get Azura’s magic necklace and was enraged to learn that Elina, a wingless fairy had it. The formula doesn’t work for a wingless fairy, so Laverna orders her minions to find Elina, who manages to reach Dahlia.
The former followers of Laverna revealed to them how they could defeat the evil Laverna. So, Elina and her friends traveled to Laverna’s place to use the magic necklace to break her crystal.
Elina comes face to face with Laverna, who offers to exchange the necklace for fairy wings, which Elina refuses. Laverna then hypnotizes Elina, but Azura’s words break the spell.
After the spell is broken, Elina smashes the magic necklace to Laverna’s crystal which returns all the guardian’s powers. Laverna then screams and completely disappears out of thin air.
The Magic Meadow and the whole of Fairytopia are now safe from the evil Laverna. The Enchantress and all the locals have regained their flight and their strength.
Ultimately, Elina is rewarded with a rainbow-colored necklace that grants her wish for a pair of fairy wings.
