Sandy Cheeks is one of the main characters of the SpongeBob Squarepants franchise. She is a 36-year-old scientist and a karate-loving American squirrel who lives in a climate-controlled Treedome to keep her dry in Bikini Bottom. Sandy Cheeks’ age can’t slow down her fun-loving personality.
Sandy Cheeks Highlights
Sandy and her twin brother Randy were born in Houston. Their parents are Ma and Pa Cheeks, and they have an older sister named Rosy. Sandy is proud of her birthplace and always longs to visit the land where she was born.
To breathe underwater, she wears a white suit with a big glass helmet equipped with oxygen. Since she originally came from the state of Texas, she has a Southern accent and cowgirl character.
Sandy Cheeks Personality and Characteristics
Sandy has an outgoing and active personality. Her big Texas accent and personality shine in every episode. The intensity of Sandy’s love of extreme rodeos and karate is also shown in her kindness toward SpongeBob and his friends.
SpongeBob SquarePant character and Sandy are very close friends along with Patrick Star. In earlier episodes, Sandy is very caring for SpongeBob and would go all out to support him in times of need. They often do karate together.
Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob was created as a strong fictional character because she appears crazy and competitive in the later episodes. Although some hope for a romance between SpongeBob and Sandy, this will not work since SpongeBob is genderless.
Sandy from SpongeBob is undoubtedly one of the most compelling characters in the SpongeBob franchise, but the biggest question remains unanswered. What is an intelligent and cute-looking squirrel doing in Bikini Bottom befriending SpongeBob Square Pants and Patrick Star?
She loves and misses the Lone Star State of Texas, where she came from but still lives under the sea. To begin with, Sandy arrived at Bikini Bottom to study the different creatures of the sea in their natural habitat.
However, she continues to call Bikini Bottom her home for thirteen long seasons of the franchise. She has already made many groundbreaking inventions and indeed now has more than enough knowledge about pretty much everything of life underwater.
The answer to this mind-boggling question can be found in Season 4’s episode, “Chimps Ahoy.” In this episode, Sandy was visited by her Chimpanzee bosses to see her inventions’ progress personally.
As it turned out, Sandy is being funded by Dr. Marmalade, Lord Reginald, and Professor Percy to invent a device that will be useful for Chimpanzees.
For 117 years, the Chimps have been looking for a device to peel their bananas. Surprisingly, the Nutcracker that she created can be used to peel bananas. The visit did not start well, but it ended with the Chimpanzees being overly satisfied.
The Chimpanzee bosses were more than just satisfied with Sandy’s work; they offered her 20 more years of employment contract and a sizeable pay raise.
Aside from the opportunity to continuously occupy her amazing Treedome and resume her friendship with SpongeBob, Sandy accepted the extended contract because she is a dedicated scientist.
Along with her Chimpanzee bosses, Sandy is also a servant of science. Her passion is to observe, experiment, and invent to improve life. And the best thing about it is that she can continue pursuing while embarking on fun adventures with our favorite sponge.
Sandy Cheeks Physical Appearance
Sandy is a brown animated squirrel who wears a white space suit with a large clear glass helmet over her head to breathe underwater, which also resembles a white diving suit. Her white suit has a yellow patch with an acorn logo and gray boots with a red dot. Her glass helmet has a pink flower with five petals on the top.
Sandy usually wears a purple bikini when she isn’t in her white space suit. She often appears in her purple bikini while safe inside her treedome.

Sandy Cheeks Quotes
“I’m going to give that legless fiend what-fer, and there’s nothing you can say that’s gonna stop me.”
“SpongeBob, don’t you worry about me. I can take care of myself. After all, who’s the strongest critter in Bikini Bottom?”
“And who saves your yellow backside from certain destruction on a regular basis?”
“Boy, that critter put up some sort of fight, but as you can see, I’m from Texas, and no worm is a match for me. I even found my tail!”
“Oh, this is the tongue, and the whole thing is the worm. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!”
“Well, I don’t know nothin’ about Alaska, but looky here. Back in Texas, I wrangled bulls, and I wrangled worms. As far as I’m concerned, doing both together just saves rope.”
“I like you, SpongeBob. We could be tighter than bark on a tree!”
“I’ll be faster than a wood chip chipin on a woodpecker. I’m gonna get you, Dirty Dan.”
“He always folds his clothes before running around in the NUDE! Something TERRIBLE must of happened to him!”
“That wasn’t funny, SpongeBob. You had me worried sick.”
“You’re mince meat!”
“SpongeBob! Where are you?!”
“Why don’t you say that to my behind, that is, if you can catch it.”
“Stupidity isn’t a virus, but it sure is spreading like one.”
“Shoot! Looks like a twister hit this place!”
“I’m hotter than a hickory-smoked sausage!”
“Don’t you have to be stupid somewhere else?”
“You’re about as ugly as homemade soup!”
“You’re nothing but pure evil…just like newspaper comics.”
“Don’t you dare take the name of Texas in vain!”
“I’ll be there faster than a bare-foot jackrabbit on a hot, greasy griddle in the middle of August!”
“You’re gonna be wearing an iron lung when I’m through with you, Pinhead!”
“I don’t know why, but I think I’ll kick SpongeBob’s butt tomorrow.”
“This dome is made of the strongest polyurethane. That’s just a fancy word for plastic. Ain’t that just the bee’s knees?”
“Well, I gotta admit, that’d slow me down, but I’m still going for it!”
