Fast forward to events after the first movie, and Guy is still with The Croods as they still search for a new home. They continually have to defend themselves from various animal attacks.

The romance between Guy and Eep is deepening, which only annoys Grug more. After hearing both of them talking about leaving the family and starting their own life, he storms off into the jungle.

He discovers a very high wall and, with everyone’s help, they break through to discover lush land full of fruit and streams, and they are delighted. They think they have found their new home.

They soon get caught in a trap and are set free by a homo sapiens couple. The new couple introduces themselves as The Bettermans and declares that they knew Guy’s parents and him when he was younger.

The Bettermans bring The Croods to their giant tree house and give them all their own rooms. Grug’s family quickly adapts to the modern lifestyle. Much to his annoyance, rather than sleeping together, they all have separate bedrooms.

Eep and Dawn The Croods A New Age Movie

Thunk discovers windows and gets addicted to looking through them all the time. The Betterman’s daughter Dawn knows Guy from when they were young and quickly befriended Eep.

But their differences soon bring friction as The Bettermans don’t like the destructive behavior of The Croods. Phil Betterman hatches a plan to have Guy stay with them and make The Croods leave.

He brings Grug to his man cave, which is as hot as a sauna, and inserts the idea of Guy staying while the rest of them should leave. Even Phil’s wife, Hope, drops many hints to Ugga it would be best for Guy if he lives with her instead.

At dinner, tensions are high on all sides, especially when everyone sees Dawn’s swollen hand. Guy and Eep have fallen out, and Grug declares that his family will leave in the morning.

The Punch Monkeys force Grug and Phil to fight like gladiators to see which one will be used to sacrifice the Giant. After tiring each other out, they resort to exchanging bitter and hurtful words. Guy regrets what he had said to Eep earlier.

In the end, the Punch Monkeys put all three of them into banana costumes and leave them as a sacrifice. With the thought of being eaten, Phil and Grug apologize to each other and Guy for pressuring him to stay.

As the giant Punch Monkey is about to grab them, The Thunder Sisters arrive and unleash a risky attack. They battle all the Punch Monkeys while freeing the men from the clutches of the Giant.

At the climax of the battle, the giant Punch Monkey is dangling over an abyss. It is holding onto Eep by her little toe, which looks like a peanut. It is a prosthetic toe and comes off, to the Giant’s surprise, and he falls into oblivion.

Everyone returns to their lush home where The Bettermans and The Croods live happily together. Guy realizes that Eep is his Tomorrow, and they move into their room in the Tree House. Even the Punch Monkeys are here, free of their torment, and all get on perfectly well after they have accepted their differences.
